I picked up my cake dummies from Dallas Foam today! icon_biggrin.gif

I got 14 of differing sizes for $27. I saw several at the local cake store, the 16in round was $13!

I can't wait to use them. If you are looking for dummies, I would highly recommend Dallas foam.

Thanks for letting us know about your good experience with Dallas Foam. I've considered ordering from them online, but hadn't talked to anyone who'd actually done business with them. They do seem to have the very best pricing on foam dummies.

wendysue--
I ordered from them and had them shipped. They are perfect. I got in the rounds (16", 14" 12" 10" 8" 6") and in the square (16" 14" 12" 10" 8" 6"). All of that and shipping was $36.39. Shipped out fast, too.

And wouldn't you know the first time I used the 8" round, the family just threw it away. I left detailed instructions what was to be returned to me. Oh well, family is paying for another 8" round dummy.

Mac,
Great prices! I don't have anywhere to store that many dummies, which is the only reason I haven't ordered yet. If I remember right they request a $25 min. order??? Could be wrong, it's been awhile since I researched this. Anyway, I've been all over the net comparing prices and they were by far the most reasonable. When I saw how low their prices were I first assumed they would overcharge on shipping, but emailed and asked for a complete estimate with shipping. I could easily see that they are honest with shipping charges. I've bookmarked thier site!

All those dummies came in one box (large box) but I could easily store it on top of a shelf in my garage for the time being.

I talked to them on the phone when I placed my order and they said that the $25.00 minimum did not pertain to the cake dummies. I ordered that much any way but if I ever need less than that they are who I am going to. My cake dummies are great. They all came in one box. I wish I knew how they got all those cake dummies so neatly in one box. I ordered approximately 16 dummies and including shipping it only cost me like $40.
They are truly the most affordable!!!

All of these positive comments are good to hear, as I ordered a bunch from them just yesterday. I had been putting it off, because I don't really have the space for them. But, I'm eating waaaay too much cake! I need to find a better way to play! I'm going to put a shelf high in my garage for these and my growing pan inventory. That space isn't used, and it'll be high enough that nobody will knock their heads on it! icon_smile.gif

This is just great to know. I certainly am going to use them too. When you use the dummies do you cover them in plastic wrap first. Thanks

If you would like holes in the cake dummies you ordered,
please add the number of holes below and which cake dummy size along with the size of the hole.
(If all, enter "Holes-all round dummies")

the above statement is on their website. OK stupid question.... why would you want holes in you cake dummies?

Maybe if you wanted to use the cake stand with the pole through the center? Not sure what it's called, but Wilton makes one. icon_smile.gif

I can only figure you would want to put a hole or holes in the bottom so you could put a nail in it ant then attach it to something so it doesn't slide around when you are working on it.

Do they have a secure site that you can put a cc # on?

I used my CC with them and it is secure. Also they do ship fast.

I covered all of my cake dummies with white contact paper so I can scrape off frosting and wash off. Their website state that they are washable but I would woory that the foam would soak up water.
