Wafer Paper + Lemon Extract + Piping Gel =
Decorating By LisaMS Updated 18 Mar 2006 , 2:23am by LisaMS
Something I kinda like popping into my mouth.
Wafer paper has no taste; but when I painted some green for leaves the other day (using Wilton food color mixed with lemon extract) then brushed on a coat of piping gel; I discovered they actually taste pretty good.
Y'all may already know this; but it was a discovery for ME. LOL
Hi sandie,
Welcome to Cake Central.
You can purchase the paper at most cake supply stores.
You draw a design on the paper and then color it using food color pens, food coloring or color paste or gel.
SheilaF made some pretty butterflies using the rice paper.
Sandie, you can also buy wafer paper that's already been printed with edible ink. I bought some wafer paper leaf prints and all I had to do was cut them out and apply a thin layer of piping gel to them. There is a picture of the cake with leaves in my album. I bought some plain wafer paper and was experimenting with just coloring my own leaves using colored paste mixed with extract.
