Hi,
I have a question for all you who are fondant experts: When I read in directions that I need 24 oz of fondant divided into 4 oz portions....must I weigh it on kitchen scales? Or is there some other way, maybe by comparing it to something else? Like for example, the size of a lemon or the size or a walnut, etc.
Thanks very much for any input. icon_smile.gif

Not really sure how to answer this, or if I understand what you're trying to do (directions for what?). I would think 4 oz is probably this size of a lemon... ?

Maybe just eyeball the 24 oz fondant and pull out a chunk that's roughly one-sixth of the total?

4oz portions means youre going to have 6 portions of fondant, so you can divid the fondant into 6 equal portions. 6 x 4oz = 24oz

Thanks for the input. I'm making cupcakes with fondant ribbon-type loops on top to look like flowers. Calls for 24 oz of fondant, divided into 4 oz each. I don't have kitchen scales so I was wondering if there was another way to determine the ounces. That is the reason for the question...I don't want to buy kitchen scales today. icon_smile.gif
