I have my first wedding show in 2 days. I have baked the cakes. 10" and 6" layers. I have a white plant stand that I want to use, but I can not decide how to ice the cake. I have several ideas, but can't pick. I want to do something different than I have done in the past and I love the simple romantic cakes and fresh flowers. Anyone have any good ideas? It is not a big event--just a local department store holding a bridal show. (however, there is alos a decorator that specializes in gumpaste and fondant!--how intimidating!) Thanks in advance!

Scroll work on the sides, a simple bead border and beautiful fresh flowers! Good luck and have fun at the show. icon_smile.gif

I don't know but I really do love the diamond with the pearls look. Very beautiful! I'm sure whatever you do, will be perfect. I seen your beautiful cakes. Good luck!

What about the graphics cake made by Antonia74. Or the pillow cake made by Meeka. I think those cakes are absolutely gorgeous and so contemporary. The decorator that specializes in gumpaste and fondant will probably do something with flowers but I think people would really like the contemporary cakes.

Thanks guys. I fell slightly better today--now that things are getting going with the cakes. I actually found a 4 " pan last night by accident. I think I am going to make that also and have a 3 tiered cake.
There are so many pretty cakes out there that it gets overwhelming. I have to remember that I will making a cket to the bride's specifications anyway! icon_wink.gif
Thanks again! I'll post the cake when I'm through!
