I know this is kind of wierd to ask on a cake site, but I have heard so much about this and so far so good... and thought maybe I would use it for a little while to get off this fat off my stomach I lose it everywhere but not the tummy... so I thought to ask you if you use it, and what are your results?

I never heard of slim quick, but I seen a pill on tv and it's suppose to burn fat quick w/out exercising much or something like that. It's called Leptoprin, but for a 30 day supply is about $150. Wow, alot! Then I seen another tv commercial about the same pills but for less at about $53.00 for a 30day supply-I just looked at the site and they bumped them up to $75 I wonder why. Hmmmm. It's called Leptopril at Leptopril.com. I'd like to try that someday when I get extra money. LOL!

What was it that you didn't like about Trimspa? I'd really love to know your opionion of it. I've considered buying it recently, but I have this fear of finally taking something to supplement my weight loss & it making my heart race or giving me the shakes, or just making me feel jittery in general. Did Trimspa do any of that to you? Does anyone know of something out there that works, or at least helps, but doesn't cause all of those side affects I mentioned??

I've used trimspa before and didn't like it b/c it didn't really work for me!!! I've thought about trying the slimquick also, but figure it's propbably like the other stuff claiming the same. I don't really know anyone that has taken any of the products out there and they got good results!!

JennT....most of those products will give you the jittery feeling until you build up a tolerance to it!! But when you stop taking them or miss a day...I always got REALLY bad headaches for a few days afterwards. But I'm pretty senstive to 'medicine' or any type of pill, so I always have some type of werid side effect to anything I take!!!

I've lost 60lbs before and actually did it the old fashion way.....exercising and eating right!! But since I've had my son I don't seem to have the same dedication I did before I had him!!! So I've been trying to figure out how to get off this 30lbs of 'baby' weight I've been carrying for 2 yrs now.

Oh, but I think GNC usually has a 30 day money back gurantee!! Maybe it would work for you!!

I've seen Leptopril for under $30.00 at Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS Pharmacy.

Although I haven't tried it yet.

I don't think that any pill can solve a weight problem. Most of the products don't work (they only work for the producer and ther trader). Some products work but some of them are hazardous to health.

And wether the pill works or not - if you stop taking them, you will gain weight again because you didn't change your habits.

The theory is simle. You have two sides of a scale. On the one side there are the calories you eat and on the other side there are the calories you use up. If you want to loose weight you can either cut down the the amount of calories you eat or increase the amount of calories you burn.

Reality is much more difficult, I know. But only if you change your habits (reduce food, fruits instead of sweets, fresh vegetables every day and sports at least twice a week) you will loose weight and keep your new figure.

I know it's difficult but in this case the easy way never works.

I'm trying to lose 10lbs right now and it is so hard to change my eating habits. I got so used to eating regular full fat things while I was pregnant and breastfeeding that it's hard to give up! I just bought the Firm workout. It is awesome! I have done it 3 times now and I can tell if I keep up with it I will be in great shape or dead-lol. It is hard but I really do feel better after I do it. I found it at Target so I didn't have to pay the shipping-bonus! It also comes with meal plan ideas.

see I have been told that I dont look like I weigh as much as I do.... however, the reason I dont lose weight is I don't Eat.... and anytime I do a diet and have to eat then I gain and it gives me the reverse effect. I look back at my grandmothers and I see my mom and see that I am the exact way and destin to be this way.... I lose when I dont try, but I hate waiting to do it. See I have a bone disorder (for lack of a better word) in my knees, it's nothing serious, it's patellafemoral syndrome, and I have big problems with my ankles, and wrist....SO much of the excerises if not all that are out there to do I cannot, so being I have had this problem a long time I have developed the bad thing of not eating. So I am stuck. However I have looked into the bypass and the doctors say even though I am 200 pounds, my ideal weight is 152 and the 50 pounds isnt enough for the surgery.... I know I dont have the money for a tummy tuck to liposuction things like that.....SO I am looking at things to increase my metobolism.... which is why I asked the question. By the way I have tried every diet out there.... and was even put into the hospital when I was in the Navy to see if that would help... it didnt'.... I just kept getting medical waivers for much of my problems.... I have to face it I'm screwed I guess.. icon_wink.gif

Nah, you're not screwed! Do you have access to a pool on base or at a local YMCA? Water aerobics would be perfect for you. No impact, no stress to the joints. Yoga is also a wonderful exercise. I did it religiously before I was pregnant and would have kept up with it while pregnant but I had a high risk pregnancy. I always felt so energized and centered after a class. I know it sounds so hippie but it's true! lol Also, if you can swing it, a visit with a dietician could be really helpful in giving you a meal plan and not a diet. Check with the local hospitals. Some of them will offer nutritional counseling for a reasonable fee. It sounds like your body is so used to "doing without" that it holds onto everything it has. I would avoid surgery if at all possible. I have two friends that have gone thru bypass and it is no picnic. Also bypass won't solve the eating habit problem. I just watched a special on discovery health with the authors of The You Owners Manual. It was very interesting and they have a meal plan book that goes with it. They helped a woman get on track and she lost something like 25 lbs in 10 weeks and her fitness level was much improved.

In my experience it is the best way to make a meal plan for a whole week, write a shopping list and buy the things on the list only. I use a compurter program.
Another good idea is that I go out running direcly after work. I have my sportsuit at work and there's no chance for my couch to detain me from making sports.
I also like Pilates very much. I have a DVD.

flayvurdfun, do you want to try the South Beach Diet? I don't feel like it's an actual diet at all because I'm not starving all the time. I think what it does is teach you how to eat healthy again. icon_biggrin.gif It's no carbs for the first two weeks but then you start adding healthy carbs back into your diet. You can eat until you're full, no counting or measuring food out. I've lost 15 pounds so far and I'm only on my 3rd week. You can even have sugar free fudgesicles and sugar free jello the first two weeks!

flayvurdfun......this is such a great workout for those than't can't do regular execise!!! When I was having really bad back problems...I was told to do wateraerobics and yoga.....was a great workout!! I didn't keep up w/only b/c I don't like this type of exercise (I like Tae-bo and running...I know GREAt for my back). But both were great exercises and perfect for those that don't like or can't do other types. There are even ways you can run in the pool....I felt kinda werid the first couple times I did it...but boy was I sore!! Very low impact, but high intensity!!!

I've started the "Sonoma Diet" which is based on a Mediterranean diet. I have lost 7 pounds in two weeks. I need to step it up now and start exercising. The diet is much like South Beach in the way they try and get you to crack the sugar/carb addiction. It's amazing how often I catch myself ready to clean off the kids plates! It's definitely an eye-opener. icon_eek.gif

Good luck to you Bikegal! thumbs_up.gif

Thanks kos! The thought of other kids making your mama's so fat jokes jump started me on the road to losing weight. icon_wink.gif My little one is off to school next year. Plus, I want to wear sexy strappy high heels again. Ughh I can't believe I used to be able to run 3 miles a day, I really miss those days. icon_smile.gif

i just recently purchased a treadmill to get something physical going. I to used to be SO fit. I've done it all as far as exercise. The BEST thing I ever did was kickboxing!! Besides burning calories like nobodys business, it was fun. It wasn't that expensive and I took it at a karate center. They even spent time on self defense. Let me tell you, I used to walk through the parking lot at the grocery store just waiting for someone to look at me wrong.lol. I'm telling you, IT WAS THE BEST THING I EVER DID. I lost weight BUT became REALLY toned as well!!

But basically, any form of excerise is great. Walking for twently minutes is even great. It basically boils down to eating habits.
