Ok I know you have seen way too many of these but please help, my husband tried and this is what he came up with

creative cakes and confectionaries icon_cry.gif

I can't even pronounce that or spell it confectionaries and there is nothing creative about that or my cakes!!!!

I copy a lot of my cakes from CC and combination of different cakes too.

Anyways cakes by (name) I don't like, I don't like my name

I do want my business to serve the hispanic community as well as Americans. I am Mexican and know how to make the cakes Mexican people like so I definately see a whole market there for me. So my name has be able to be easily pronounced by Mexican people even if they don't speak English but want something real cute. My brain is blank!!!

Thank you all so much I am sure you will come through and come up with something super!!!!

Even if you're 'copying' other people's designs, you're still using your creativity to make it suit your clients needs, so don't put yourself down.

I personally like just Creative Cakes maybe adding Creative Cakes Pasteleria (sorry if I spelt that wrong) people will know that you are catering to the hispanic community as well?

Maybe you can just do something generic like 'The Cake Shoppe'?

Maybe your signature..."It's not just cake..."

Hope that helps.

I am not opening a bakery, so anything with bakery is out ,I guess I should have stated that. I like "It's not just cake' but m,y husband says it sounds like a negative thing and I was considering Icing and Sprinkles but it is also my email address won't that cause problems?

I love the cake shoppe but too good to be true it's problably already taken.

easier to create a NEW email address for personal use and use iciingandsprinkles@..... for the business.

after all, your business will need its own email address too and since Icing and Sprinkles is already a really cute name for a business -- go w/ that and you've already got the email

-----

now as for you new personal email

let's see ---

and that is a good market to get into Icing!
I've got my first quincenera cake order and of course, there will be lots of girls there who are going to be looking at it and want one for their 15's.
How funny that your husband thought of that! My business name is
The Whimsical Bakery,
Creative Cakes and Confections

I like the way he thinks! icon_biggrin.gif

You do have to really think hard about it. If you put it in Spanish, then pretty much alot of Spanish will come. If you don't put anything Spanish, then they won't come...

lemme think....
I'll be back...

I vote for Icing and Sprinkles, how cute!!!

Icing and Sprinkles,
Beautiful Cakes y (Creative) Pasteles

Sorry, I don't know the word for "creative" in Spanish, but you get the point. (I don't even know if pasteles is the correct word, I'm relying on my memory of a high school Spanish class, here!) If you keep it simple, and add both an English and a Spanish phrase in your byline, people will know that you are experienced in dealing with a variety of cakes and customers. Good luck!!! icon_smile.gif

"pastel" is correct in Mexico. In PR, they say "biscocho." It really depends on what country people are from which word they use...but she sounds like she's wanting to market to people of Mexican dissent so pastel would be good thereicon_smile.gif

I was considering using a nickname with Cakes by... For instance when my mother was annoyed with me as a young girl, she'd call me by my middle name (Miss Marie). So I was thinking of using something like, Cakes by Miss Marie.

i vote "icing and sprinkles". that was the first thing i thought when i saw your post and your screenname. then i saw others had already suggested it! great minds think a like! lol. on your marketing materials i would add something like "creative cakes for all occassions" but not have that as officially part of your business name.

I like icing and sprinkles too. It's your trademark sort of speak. Just one thing to ponder.... I don't like it as an email, (or without spaces between the words) I just misread and sounded awaful, you see I'm Mexican too.
Sorry, but if your goal is selling to Mexican and Americans you should see both sides of the comments.
