Decorating By TandTHarrell Updated 16 Mar 2006 , 11:00pm by TandTHarrell
For those of you that have made this cake, does this cake rise high or does it stay low?
ok what about this one,
have anyone made the red velvet cake from the cake mix doctor?
could someone please respond. i am making a red velvet cake for a customer..
I made the 1st cake already, the cake came out flat.... thats why i was asking I wanted to make sure i did not do anything wrong
I usually use dh mix (unless you want scratch) and use the cake mix extender to that and have great results![]()
What is a cake mix extender. Is this the enhanced recipe? Thanks
Cake mix extender is adding other ingredients to the box mix to get more batter and taste more like scratch mix. This is the one I use.
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 egg
Just mix your box mix as directed on the back of the box and then add the above ingredients![]()
I have made that cake (Waldorf Astoria) and it rises fairly high, and I have been told it is very very delicious and that those who have made it say they havent had any better.... but of course you have to be your own judge.
flay i like the cake very much; however this is my 2nd time making the cake and both time the cake have come out kinda flat.. the cake mix say to use a 9inch pan, maybe that's the problem ... anyway i made the doctor mix velvet cake and it taste pretty good. i will add all three cake layers together 2 get height... thanks for responding,,,, i knew someone will come thru
