I was wondering how to flavor fondant and also does anybody flavor marshmellow fondadnt? Also when do I add color to it? When I put the marshmellows in the micro-wave or after I melted the marshmellow? One more~Does anybody do anything different to their MMF then what the recipe says on here? Let me know because mine didn't turn out at all. TIA~MELISSA

I flavored some Wilton ready made fondant the last time i used it. All I did was press a little dent into the fondant, fill it up with some clear almond extract and knead it til I thought my arms would fall off. It didn't "fix" the fondant by any means, but it made it far more tolerable. I don't know if this is what you're supposed to do or not but it worked for me. Oh and I noticed my fondant was a little too sticky with the extra moisture so I kneaded in a bit more powdered sugar too. Hope this helps!

I add my color after i melt my marshmellows but before i've added in all my powder sugar. It works great for me and i get a nice even color. Hope this helps.

I flavor my MMF with LorAnn oils. They come in a wide variety of flavors. I add the oils and any colors that I want to use to the melted marshmallows, before I stir in the powdered sugar.
If you want more than one color then make a white batch and then you can pinch off as much as you need and color it. To to that you just knead the color into it, and knead, knead, knead!

If it gets too hard to knead, pop it back into the microwave for 6 or 7 seconds. It softens up real quick. Be careful not to burn yourself.

I add some flavoring to mine when I'm melting the marshmallows... I use what I call the "trinity"; a little butter flavoring, a little vanilla flavoring and a little almond flavoring... it's a nice mixture and everyone tries to figure out what the taste really is icon_biggrin.gif

I flavor and color mine at the melting stage, too. I use Lorann almond oil...1/4 tsp per batch.
