Does anyone here knit? I am taking a class and love it. So far I can cast on and off, knit and pearl.

This is definitely going to be a fun hobby!

I used to knit when I was a 12 or 13...but now I crochet...I love the needle crafts because they are so relaxing to me...and I love how it is related to math. Skip 3 stiches, crochet in the next stich. When chaining out, make the divisble by 2...I love to crochet!

My grandmother taught me to knit when I was about 7 years old - that's almost 50 years ago! Don't do so much now, but have done my share in my time. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I have tried a few times. The last most recently I bought the kit with the needles and book and made a little square. My neighbor that does knitting said it was pretty good, which made me happy. I just can't concentrate on it like I need to with three kids around. Crocheting is a little easier for me. Maybe because I have been doing it longer. Mostly stick to baby afgans though because then I KNOW I can finish it!! icon_lol.gif HOpe you enjoy your classes though.

I do when I can find the time.

www.knitty.com is one of my favorite online resources.

My 4 year old got a kit from her great-grandmother at Christmas. It's cute. It came in a basket with knitting needles, a crochet needle and a quilting needle (all plastic), and 6 rolls of yarn. She wants to learn. Of course, I don't know how!! So I sat down last week and followed some of the instructions and crocheted a little flower using the chain stitch(?). It wasn't too bad! I think it's too advanced for my daughter though. She's 4-1/2 now, and really wants to learn. She can count to 20, but I don't know if she can get the hand movements down. What do you think?
