Well, course 2 is finally done. Course 3 starts up in 2 weeks...then I'm taking a month or two off before doing the fondant and gumpaste class! The basketweave was a lot easier than I thought it would be...but hard on your hands! I decided to go a little simpler than what the book showed, and my instructor was fine with that.

And...here is the purse can from he%%! It was one thing after another with this bad boy. Fortunately it tasted good! It was a learning experience, anyway.

What do you think?

Congrats! We are on the same class schedule! I finished up last night (Tuesday night) and will start course III in two weeks. I was saying last night in class that I had seen the BW done in chocolate and how much I liked it! I love the purse too. HHmmm.....might have to try that one!

Thanks for the replies!

I think my judgement of the purse cake may be clouded by the experience. icon_smile.gif My SIL kept saying how "great" and "perfect" it was and all I could think about was cutting it so I did't have to look at it anymore. icon_razz.gif

Yeah, the basketweave was fun...it was the rope border I struggled with. I can't wait to do a two-tone one, or the one with that uses the round tip too!

Very nice! I never thought of using a wired ribbon for the handle - it looks great! Nice course 2 cake too! Looks yummy!
