Hi, all ~
I made the giant ding dong cake last week for the first time and it was delicious. I didnt' like the way the sides looked after applying the glaze so I took some oreo cookie crumbs and put them on the sides. I didn't like the mixing of textures but really want to cover the sides with something as they are not smooth enough. Any ideas?? Here is a pic of the cake I did last week with the cookie crumbs.

Thanks, Julie
LL

How in the world to you decorate a ho-ho cake?? A Ho-Ho has a little white swirl on it and that's it! icon_eek.gif

I would make a chocolate jelly roll cake. Cool, fill using the DingDong filling, and roll. Pour chocolate ganuche over and you are set.

I love this recipe! I have made it several times now and had never thought to decorate it until I saw one in the gallery I really liked. It has white scroll work on the sides. Do a search in the gallery for Giant Ding dong cake and it will come up.
