I would have to suggest a FBCT. Are you sure you don't want to try again? My first FBCT was a disaster, but when I tried again (and read the directions carefully) it came out nice. There are tons of coloring pages on Dora.

Have a look in the 2006 Yearbook. It has the Dora pan redone as Princess Dora and Cowboy Dora, I'm sure you could use the Cowboy Dora template and just redress her in the pirate outfit thumbs_up.gif

I would go with fbct...if not that, then transfer a pic to your cake and fill it in with stars on your cake....otherwise, you may want to go with toys of dora

Are you sure you don't want to try a FBCT again? Maybe last time was just bad luck. Then how about a laminated image? You could find a coloring page, color it in and laminate it. Just lay it on the cake, and be sure to let the parents know to take it off before they cut the cake.

I LOVE toys on cakes and there are some really great Dora figures that are just the right size. You could do a stacked cake (look through traci's photos, she has some great ones for examples of Strawberry Shortcake!!) and just put a Dora figure on top. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!

Building on the stacked cake idea, you could put a treasure chest on the top tier. I would think you could make something cute out of a mini-loaf pan.

Post pictures, my dd says she wants a pirate dora birthday too (of course she's 3 and her bday is not until Septeber ... so who knows by then!).

How about an island with a treasure chest? You could put toys of Dora and Boots on top.

I made a treasure chest cake it's in my photos.........but if you're not interested in that, what about constructing a 3 d pirate ship and then get the little Dora pirate figure and put them on the pirate ship!!
