My First - And Probably Last - Wedding Cake!!

Well, I finished my daughter's wedding cake the day before. We went for the rough icing look in the end as she thinks it is "much trendier" and for me putting the RI on top of the fondant was a wonderful way of covering up the lack of total smoothness. I was also happy that I finally worked out how to attach the flowers - a friend showed me how to make staples out of floral wire.
Anyway she and her partner were very happy with the final result. But I don't think I'll be tackling another one any time soon. Too much stress. But thanks for all the help and suggestions on this site.
By the way, all the guests enjoyed the (chocolate mud) cake and we had only a few slices left to bring home.

I really like the non-smooth look and the green is gorgeous against the white. Beautiful job!

chocolate mud cake huh? Where would i find a recipe like that.

I think the cake turned out beautifully doesnt even look like you had any problems from an outside perspective.
