I will be making a Thomas the Tank Engine cake in a few weeks and the only blue I have is Americolor 'Skyblue'. I have time to get supplies, so fot those that have made this cake before (there are some amazing ones in the gallery!), which blue do I need?

Also, can anyone recommend a good red that doesn't make icing taste nasty (I'm looking for something that can make a bright 'Lightening McQueen' red, without affecting taste!)

TIA

Kelly

Hi kelly,

I had this exact problem a couple of weeks ago and found the perfect colour!

Sugarflair Colours Royal Blue is excellent. I get all my colours from Sugarflair and you can order them through nearly any decorating order site. If you have trouble finding it (sure you wont though!) give me a shout and I will find out exactly what site it was.

Good Luck, Julie

Thanks Julie! I forgot you'd made one! I've got another visit home in just over a week, so I'll be stocking up on supplies while I'm there. The shop I'm going to go to also has a website and if the shop has all the stuff that the site has, I'll be in hog heaven! Check it out:
