Everytime I make MMF I end up with tiny little bumps of hard powdered sugar. Anyone tell me why or what I am doing wrong?

Are you sifting your PS?

That's all I can think of.

Are you mixing it long enough?

I'm sifting it and I think I am mixing it long enough. Other than the PS problem it has a good texture and isn't sticky.

Do you use a brand name of ps? Sometimes the off brands are not good to use for fondant.

I had this prob a couple of times. I just started kneading it longer and I haven't had this problem since, so that must have been it.

do you add flavoring?

sometimes i noticed that if i added the flavoring AFTER adding sugar, it formed lumps, rather than mixing it in with the melted marshmallows BEFORE adding any sugar. sifting it is a pain, but it also helps, as well as kneeding it well and allowing it to rest overnight-SOMETIMES will absorb the remaining sugar lumps. this was a problem for me...inconsistency, which is why i have switched to buying satin ice, it is ALWAYS consistant, tastes, smells and looks wonderful. and no mess!!!

how soon do you need it? www.intotheoven.com will get your order shipped to you within a few days literally, and the shipping is cheap. i THINK they are in illinois and i am in texas, i usually have the order in hand 3 days later. to have a 20lb bucket shipped, i pay $11.41 and 49.95 for the fondant, they also sell it in smaller containers.

My family refused to eat Wilton fondant until I added flavoring to it. I've tried cheesecake and strawberry so far and 1/2 the family will it eat it and the other 1/2 still won't, mostly because of texture not taste.
