forgive me if i'm being redundant with this question. i just went through all of the threads i could find on this but i couldn't really find the answer i needed.

i baked a batch of nfsc tonight that are for my DD's birthday party which is in a week and a half. when i have time, i am going to decorate them with royal icing.
i am wondering how best to store the cookies until i have time to decorate them. currently, they are in a sealed tupperware container on my counter. is it okay for me to keep them in the sealed container for a week? or, should i freeze them?

if freezing is the way to go, do i have to individually wrap each one first?

thanks in advance for any help or advice. this is my first attempt at cookies.

I have stored baked NFSC in a tupperware container for up to 2 weeks. I kept the container in a cool place. Interesting enough, my mother told me today she just finished eating the last cookie from her CHRISTMAS cookie bouquet that I had made for her!! (I bag each cookie) I was shocked, she said it tasted as fresh as the day she got them.

I think they taste much fresher if you freeze them

tricia; how do you freeze your cookies? can i leave them in the tupperware and put them in the freezer? or do i need to individually wrap each cookie to protect it from freezer burn?

thanks icon_smile.gif

I have done it both ways and was okay...but I usually put mine in a large ziplock freezer bag then in the tupperware and I put bags for cushion inside over the top of the cookies too..just in case they get bumped....
