I'm thinking of making french vanilla cake with cherry filling and cream cheese frosting. I think it will taste like a cherry cheesecake. Does anyone have a good filling recipe and do you think this combo would be good?

Sounds great to me. I don't have a filling recipe, but I buy those sleeve fillings from cincinnati cake and candy, and they are good. I've never had a complaint about them.

And if you can't make it to the cake supply shop - you can use canned cherry pie filling.
