It makes an awesome eyeshadow. It lasts and has awesome color....Okay, maybe I have been in the kitchen too long... next I'll be using Black Royal Icing for mascara.

Other than a kitchen mishap, I can't think of how you would even end up with luster dust on your eyelids to find out that it makes a good eyeshadow! Care to share a story with us? icon_lol.gif

The Copper and foilage silver is beautiful. I haven't actually worn the stuff but I have gotten it on my hands and it stays put for a long time....If I get in a bind.....

Well, Kellie1583, that's kinda what I was thinking....I got it on my hands and thought, "that looks just like my eyeshadow, I wonder what it would look like?" I am thinking the emerald would look really pretty...used sparingly of course...LOL!

It makes sense. After all lustre dust is just pigment and mica all really finely ground up. Basically good eye shadow is the same, with some fillers sometimes.

I just came to two conclussions:
1) I know way too much about cake decorating
2) I know way too much about make-up

Conincidently those are the two items i own the most of. lol

My first reaction to luster dust was the exact same thing, what a great eyeshadow!

I also thought the same thing about fingerprinting dust the police use. icon_redface.gif

You could certainly kill two birds with one stone. If you get running a little late getting ready to go somewhere while making a cake, just swish a little across each eyelid, a little pink on the lips and cheeks and your ready to go.

yup,

I'm a youngin' at only 20. My mom is 42 and she told me that she thinks the same thing about my lustre dust. So for some reason I don't think its the age that's influencing us. We are all just really vain and spend too much time in the kitchen.

Why not, many use makeup on their gumpaste and fondant flowers.
I was told during the Wilton Master course to use makeup or chalk on the flowers, and they are still 100% safe to eat since both are nontoxic. Yeah, well, that may be so, but I personaly wouldn't eat it. I know I eat lip stick from my lips everyday, but that doen't mean I want it w/ my slice of cake. icon_biggrin.gif
