Please help I atempted to make imbc today and turned into a glueish substance and will not solidify so if anyone can tell me how i went wrong that would be nice thanks

did you add ALL of the butter? It will look awful until you add the last few ounces!

if that's not the problem... perhaps it's too warm? It's quite temperature sensitive... a few minutes in the fridge may work wonders!

Thank you for your help I may have overheated the sugar solution could that have done it

Different recipes call for different temps... I've seen them as low as 235 deg: the one I use says 248-250 deg. If you get it any hotter than that, you might as well dump the sugar and try again 'cause the consistency will not be right. I usually aim for about 245... I find that works well.
