thank you guys so much - you all are so great I think maybe I will go with the royal icing rim (but will probably wait a few more minutes to see if there are any other suggestions haha) I have some pieces of chalk drying right now
It is for a ceremony that is being help for all the public schools in my city - like a teacher appreciation. I am doing this for the centerpiece and then doing full sheet cakes to serve 300. I just really want to impress because I just opened my own shop 6 months ago and this would be great exposure
Maybe a fondant book or 2 to lean against the cake where you want to hide the boo-boos, but not too much! Or one or 2 apples like mom2seven said.
Remember there is almost always a "back" to your cake! ![]()
I love your cake and I think you did an awsome job on it.
Personally I would make smaller red balls for the bottom only. Another option would be to pipe or roll a very, very think bead of the black/grey on the bottom edge to hide everything which wouldn't detract from your beautiful rulers/tape measurers.
I love how there's a solid yellow line that shows at the top of the ruler and if you are worried that it isn't straight, take a straight edge or metal ruler and lay it horizontally on the top edge of your ruler to flatten it and straighten the whole thing that way.
I agree, I hink just a hint of lettering would be great and perhaps the chalk but keeping it simple is always the best.
Great job! ![]()
