I need help. This weekend I tried to do some transfers, but they were bad. They were faded on the side I needed, I used parchment and waxed paper and had same results. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreicate it.

I saw a post here but can't remember who it was but they compared I think a plastic sheet and parchment/wax. The result was the transfer on the plastic stayed bright and didn't fade the other faded. I use plastic wrap and have not had any problems.

I think I read a post in which someone said to keep it out of bright light. I don't know if I have this right or if I'm connfusing it with something else.

I think royal icing will always dry a little lighter than the actual color and will not ever have a shine to it. Try using buttercream and you could even put the transfer in the freezer for a bit and then remove the wax paper. There is a tutorial here on CC it's called FBCT (Frozen Butter Cream Transfer). Let us know how it turns out.
