Help!
I have a Wilton soccerball pan which I used to bake a mud cake, but after trimming the crust off both halves (I used the tin twice) , when I put it together it was not quite a ball shape. Should I use pudding bowls instead? I see so many of you making perfectly 3d ball shapes? How do I do this?

I usually use the sports ball pan, which is 2 halves. I've got the soccer ball pan also, but have only used it for the half-ball shape. I would think baking 2 and putting them together would make a ball shape. Maybe when you trimmed it, you got a little too much off of one half. When I do the sports ball, I level my cake while it is still in the pan, that seems to work really well. Hope that helps.

Thanks Cindy, I was thinking that maybe I took too much crust off, as it looked like it was missing middle, the cakes were fine but added together didnt quite make a ball.
I also see lots of reference to the "sports ball" rather than the "soccerball pan" so think I will try that next too!
Many thanks
