I did this cake for my son's 8th birthday. He loves nature and picked what he wanted on his cake, and this is what I came up with. I can't remember who posted it, but whoever posted the instructions for the dragonfly - thanks!

The nest is made from chow mein and rice noodles mixed with melted chocolate. The snake is rice krispies covered in MMF. The bird and dragonfly are gumpaste, and all the rest of the decorations are made with MMF. The top cake is white and the bottom is chocolate fudge, both are iced with buttercream.
