Yes It's me again.. Briansbaker
Just a thought.. Another member of CC and myself have been busting our fingers (computer joke hehe) figuring out which photos are entered into the Contest that should be taken seriously, due to the fact that they are entered and are over looking some rules..
Here is what I was thinking.. Something like we have already started with the "gallery support group". Maybe we can get a group of "Contest Support Group". Trying to come up with another name, but as of right now this is will work.. Those who agree to join will be the ones in charge of the "contest cakes" cakes only.. Meaning when someone submitts a cake, it will be submitted to one of the "contest support" members and must be approved (by the member) before being entered into the contest.. The "group member" will take the photo for a walk through all the rules.. And if there happens to be a problem, they will simply PM the person who entered the photo with the problem.. Helping the contests of CC be safe, fun and fair for everyone here. New and old!
So everyones input would be so highly appreciated on this topic.. Hope to hear from everyone!!! TIA
Christy
I think it's a very good idea.
It bothers me when people post beautiful but contest illegal cakes. I want to be able to give them a good vote, but I know it wouldn't be fair to everybody else who followed the rules.
I think anything that can be done to monitor the cake photos for the contests to enforce the rules would be a good thing.
If the approval before entering isn't possible, then at least a Contest Support Group could be checking the entries as they come in and corrections could be made.
The thing I've discovered in following the contest photo entries that are double posted is that the majority of the members doing this have never posted to the forums, and may also not be reading posts in the forums.
Thanks, Briansbaker for your ideas about improving this situation. Janice

Hi all, I was just confused by the contest illegal cakes. Do you mean, posting the photos in muliple galleries? I'm not sure if everyone got this email or not. But I received an email from CC on the contest encouraging everyone to enter a photo in the baby contest. It even said if you had posted a picture already and would like to enter it, then to email CC and they would move your photo over. I think they were doing this because they wanted everyone to post a picture for the March of Dimes.
I'm not sure if I got that right or not, but that is what I took of it. But I do agree that everyone should follow the CC rules on the contest.
oh no, I dont want to discourage anyone..Your right, you can email CC to have a picture removed so that you can enter it in the contest.. This is what I was referring to.. Some members are not doing so.. Just trying to get the rules outlined one more time!!
Just to save everyone alot of time, We will not be implementing any sort of Group Contest Review and Authorization system.
Next month, when we re-write the photo gallery software, we will put in new mechanisms for photo management that should eleviate alot of the problems with contest submissions.
Until then, everyone just smile, and enjoy the contests for what they are, a chance to show off your cakes.
I guess there is already a post with a friendly reminder which should do the trick. A lot of amazing cakes!!
I'm confused.. I post all my cake pictures in my personal gallery.. so....If I have a baby shower picture in my personal gallery I can't enter it in the contest? If so, I've broken the rules.. Does it have to be a new cake you've done???
Okay, I'll probably get a lot of grief, but isn't that what a moderator should do? If that's the only concern (uploading a picture twice), although I also see some really rude, downright mean, people on the forums.
Yes, that's right. It's so that the contest is more annonymous. Maybe a moderator can give you advice.
Good luck!!!
Hey, oh no.. here is the deal.. If you have a specific cake in your personal gallery and you want that cake entered in the contest.. Simply PM Jackie and ask her to remove it from your personal gallery, so that you may enter it in the contest.. This just keeps the arguements down on " popularity contest" so to speak.. Meaning if you dont know who made the cake, you will simply vote on it's design vs on how good that certain person is..
If you have a cake in your personal gallery that you want to enter in a contest, you need to send a PM to Jackie or Heath and request that that particular cake photo be moved into the contest photo gallery.
One purpose of only posting contest photos to the contest gallery is to keep the entries anonymous.
Also, when you enter a contest photo, that photo automatically is put into your personal gallery, so you don't NEED to post it twice in order to get it there. HTH Janice

Actually Moderators have nothing to do with the photos. Only Jackie or I can move your photos or delete them.
Currently there is no way for us to know that there are two copies of the same picture, unless someone notices and reports it.
By the end of April we should have the systems in place to stop this from happening.
Thank you everyone for caring about the contests enough to ask the questions.
I am going to lock down this particular thread (as briansbaker asked) but feel free to PM me if you are at all confused about the rules, the process of submitting your cake photo, or anything else about the site.
