I am having a problem with finding a place to put everything. I have accumulated quite a few cake pans and I have a lot of tools from taking the 3 Wilton classes, plus bought extra stuff just to try it out. My kitchen cabinets and pantry look like they have been in an explosion. I would love it if some of you would share your storage tips. I'm thinking about buying a big storage bin, piling everything in there and setting that in a closet or garage until I need something, but I'm thinking there may be some better ideas.

I keep most of my pans under my bed. Someone recently pointed out that you can store your tips in a storage case and stack 2 or 3 of the same number tips stacked on top of one another--that was quite brilliant I thought. I keep my huge cookie sheets and big cake boards in the space between the washer and dryer. I pretty much have cake stuff in every room, but I know where it is when I need it even if it isn't the most effecient system.

I too am collecting way too many tins icon_lol.gif . My solution has been to put small tack nails in the kitchen wall and hang the tins up there (I have more coming and I'm going to run out of room icon_biggrin.gif ). It's a thought for tins that have a hanging hole in them! I think it's quite decorative icon_lol.gif . Unfortunately my kitchen is a typical Dutch galley kitchen and is just 6 x 15 feet in size (wall to wall, so that's not allowing for all the space the cupboards, washiing machine, cooker, boiler, & dryer take up! I have exactly 2 x 2 ft square of counter space, which as well as housing the kettle, toaster etc etc is all I have to work on - it's a miracle I can create anything at all icon_sad.gificon_cry.gificon_lol.gificon_surprised.gif

Storage bins for me. I have one devoted to gumpaste cutters and tools. One for fondant. One for the basic stuff I need for every cake, such as tips and bags and smoothers, etc. , One for coloring agents, sugars and "jimmies"...you get the idea. Right now, they're stacked neatly in the dining room, but can be whisked out of sight at a moment's notice if company's coming. My pans are another matter. I'm thinking about putting up a long shelf high in the garage (above everyone's head) and wrapping them in shrink wrap (which I have tons of after buying too much for my recent move) and storing them up there. I keep my 10" and under rounds and squares in the regular kitchen cabinets.

I also use the bins, and I'm always on the lookout for new ways to organize. Target, Linens and Things, and Ikea are great.

I brought an amoire type cabinet from Walmart and boy could I get alot of stuff in it. I have it in my living room and it blends in well with the furniture...thank goodness.

There are three adjustable shelves on the top and one adjustabe shelf on the bottom.

You would be surprised how much stuff you can get in there.

It is big and roomy inside but doesn't take up alot of space on the outside.

I have pans, storage drawers, baskets and more in mine.

I have two cabinets that are 6' tall with adjustable shelves that fit perfectly in some unused wall space in my kitchen. I have some bins with handles that fit on the top shelf that hold bags, food coloring, tools, candy melts and other stuff. I found baskets that fit perfectly on some of the other shelves that I can stand candy molds in, I use them for bags of powdered sugar, cookie cutters, cake pans and whatever else I need. I can stack the cake pans that come in boxes on the shelves. I have shaped pans on the walls, I found that brass colored clip rings for curtains with yarn or ribbon tied on works to put up the pans that don't have holes.
I have two baskets on top of the cabinets that I can fit most shaped pans in and there is enough room on top to put the 3d train or some other 3d pan that snaps together for display.
Right now the cabinets aren't full and I am saving the space for more cake stuff which drives my MIL up the wall.

I store all of my pans and boards and anything unperishable on shelves in the garage. All of the perishables go into my entryway coat closet that has been converted to a pantry at this point!
