Seiously, I've had a horrible week. Can I just get a rewind? Other problems aside, what do you think I did today, just to top off and make the end of this awful week even worse? WHAT in the world could I do that would be so stupid that I have to question my intelligence?

I went to the store for eggs this afternoon, but decided to run to the store, and do a slight jog back (bet you can see where this is going already). I brought a backpack, and a few other grocery items to hold the eggs in place. I was VERY careful and jostled as little as possible, after a little bit I decided to check on my wares. Yes, you guessed it, the eggs were everywhere. Seriously, don't even ask me why I decided to do that. Just know that this week was very hard for me and my brain isn't in full function mode (job, marriage, etc..). The worst part of the whole deal is that I forgot I had put my cell phone in the same compartment as the eggs.

Yup, I egged my cell phone. It worked fine for a while, but I think it's toast now. There is so much caked on egg in places I just can't get to. The phone is only a little more than a month old and now I will have to buy whatever is on sale. I'm a complete dummy. I cannot believe I did that. This sucks!

If anyone knows how to get to the keypad of a motorola Razr, please tell. The little screws are that special kind, so I think I'm out of luck there.

No, because I didn't purchase the warranty. Didn't count on myself being an idiot. I should really just go crawl in a hole for a week until I can get my head screwed on straight.

If the phone is already ruined and you're certain it can't be replaced or fixed (take it in, maybe they can fix it) - then go ahead and spray it down with soap and water. If it's dead anyway, it can't get "more dead" by trying to clean it up. My husband dropped a Diet Coke on his laptop once and it frizzled for a while but then came back to life.

Just remember, each horrible day makes us appreciate the easy days and when that doesn't help, it makes us appreciate the Kendall Jackson. icon_lol.gif

It is possible that if you wash it up, when it dries out it may work. Maybe that's not likely, but worth a try.
I learned the hard way too about cell phone warranties...I got a 2 year contract with no warranty on my phone. Now I am 1 month away from the end of my contract and counting the days because my phone is cracked, the screen is chipped and the battery won't hold a charge. Who knew how much abuse that darn thing would take! (yes, I'm a cheapskate and won't buy a phone unless I get the 'contract' discount!! icon_redface.gif )

I'm a cheapskate too. The phone was free after rebate. It seems to be more lively today, there is egg in the connector for the charger, gotta figure out how to fix that. The water damage marker has changed color. Really, I DID not submerge it in water mr. cell phone guy! I've got a bunch of techie guys around me that would just love to get their hands on something like this to fix so I may let one of them have at it for a while. I'd do it but I don't have the special little tools it needs to open it up.

Doh- sorry you got egg on your phone.
I decided to pay for the phone insurance on my husband's phone when I got one for him since he rides on a motorcycle. I am very glad I did because my husband's phone fell out of his pocket when he was riding on the freeway and his coat pocket unzipped itself due to the speed he was going at.
It only cost us a $40 or $50 co-pay and we had a new phone.
Once I started riding on the back of his bike more I decided to get the insurance too just in case.

OH NO. Everyone makes mistakes, this time it was just your turn. I more impressed that you decided to jog home from the store when most people drive. That's great.
