Should I use on this cake? It's for my little girl's 6th b-day party. Colors for the decorations at the party are mostly vibrant pink and purple, a little, blue and bright green. Theme is shopping, shoes, and other girl stuff. Any ideas?

The colors you listed sound good. You could even add a gumpaste shoe to go with your theme. icon_lol.gif Post a picture when your done cuz I'm sure it will be adorable! icon_wink.gif

I think the swags make it look a little victorian. Are you going for that look? It is a cute idea! Love the color ideas! Good luck! thumbs_up.gif

I agree with taking the swags away... with your colours you could do one tier the pink the other the purple and then make the two patterns in the other two minor colours you mention. i would got pink bottom and purple top and have a pink number 6. the pearl bead border if you are making your self with icing/fondant whatever do pink on the purple and purple on the pink.

Just my 2cents worth cant wait to see a pic.

have fun

oooh- I can totally see this as a whimsical cake! Pink swags, purple stripes on bottom tier...maybe some blue and green on the second tier.

It was actually all my daughter's idea. She asked for a chocolate cake but with the folks we're inviting for the party- we'll have chocolate cake for a week! LOL So, I asked her to pick a different flavor and she said watermelon. There's actually a recipe for the cake here on the site. I'm making some changes and using simply a white cake mix with a watermelon jell-o envelope mixed into it... leaving the fresh WM out. The cream I figured I could make by adding the WM jell-o to some Cool-Whip so it'll be table stable for the party. Hope it comes out good cause it's flavor her idea. Oh, she also asked for WM soda... found that recipe on FoodNetwork.com.

You sound like eating chocolate cake for a week is a bad thing.... icon_wink.gif
