that you can then go onto to frost with bc frosting and decorate? I was considering using a spice cake and adding diced apples to it, but if anyone has a better idea I would sure love to hear it.

My mom makes delicious apple cake. My brother requests it every year for his b-day. It's a very heavy, moist cake. I think it should hold up to being decorated as long as it is well-supported. I'll look for the recipe when I get home from work and PM it to you.

Thanks. It's for a 9 x 13 birthday cake, so it should hold up.
