I am doing a 3 tiered castle cake for daughters 3rd birthday. I will be using the pointy ice cream cone for the castle roofs. What is the best to use dowel rods? Or paper towel roll? Thanks for the help icon_biggrin.gif

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Are you asking if you should use paper towel rolls under the ice cream cones with the dowels inside?

I once made a castle cake using large marshmallows on skewers for turrets. I cut corners into the cake and pasted them in with buttercream and frosted right over them.
