On the weekend I popped into a local gift shop to get an album to put my (few) cake pics in. The owners of the shop wanted to have a look at my pics....I was a bit hesitant as I'm not real confident about my cakes ... well, they loved them........Anyway.....this morning I had to go back to the shop and was handed a note with a name and ph number stating "Lady wants a male torso cake for a 21st"
wow, wow, wow ..
Then it got even better..... one of the girls working in the shop is having a 21st in June and wants a funky, bright cake for 200 ppl.. and followed that up with the statement "and I will not pay you any less than $600 !!" and her sister is getting married later in the year and she would also like to talk to me about her wedding cake..... OMG REAL customers wanting to pay REAL $$$!!!!! (the only other paying customer I had that wasn't a relative or family friend, didn't like to pay!!! )
I'm so excited (so excited I left without buying what I went for)

Wow, congrats! It's true that you never know where you will find customers - wear your biz on your sleeve and sing it to who ever will listen - you will get bites!

Why would you not be confident- I looked at your work and it is flawless!!!! You deserve to paid for all of those cakes! Congratulation on he order!

Just looked at your stuff and wow! It's ALL awesome! I absolutely love that purse you made. It's gorgeous! I'd love to try one like that. I've seen the purse cake tutorial on here, but it doesn't look like yours!
I'd love to know how to go about doing one.
