Hello all!!! I was wondering if anyone has or seen some sort of portable caddy for cake decorating supplies. ie. hold fondant tools, food colorings, cutters etc. I have seen caddys for scrapbooking and other types of crafts. Any suggestions of any other type of portable case for "on the go" cake projects will be appreciated. Thanks!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Wilton carries the tool caddy. I have two of them.
I had a 50% off coupon for Michaels and one of them was the 101 pc. tool caddy collection. It came with spatulas, tips, decorating bags and a ton more.
I also use just plain rubbermaid containers and organize all my cake stuff.

HTH and welcome to CC!!

Look in the fishing/hunting department in like WalMart. I have a great tote that holds all of my tips and has space for other tools - I have one of the smaller ones but their are many different styles with different size of cubby holes, etc. Nice thing though they are portable.

I have the Wilton portable caddy and I love it. It has a tip tray on top with other compartments for food colors and other small stuff. Down below I have a large variety of items including spatulas, icing bags, piping gel. a small box of americolor colors and more. You can purchase them at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, www.wilton.com, and various other online shopping places such as ebay. Hobby Lobby is where I got mine and with my 40% off coupon it was well under 20 bucks. HTH.

I got a plastic fishing tackle box from Wal-mart on sale last year for $5.99. It has worked out just fine. It has little compartments and trays for your decorating tools, tips etc. The bottom is a milky white and the tops were in colors of turquoise, blue and green.

I started with a tackle box which I really liked, but now have moved on to a tool box on wheels and has a handle to pull like a suit case. I love it. I was trying to find a pic of one to show you.

the two come apart so if I just need the top I can unhook it and go. icon_lol.gif

This is the one I have out in my garage with MYYYYY tools in it! Hubby is NOT allowed to touch my hammers & screwdrivers because he gets this brain fog and forgets where he found things then I go to get MYYYYY stuff and it's gone!!!!! icon_eek.gif

I can see where this would be an excellent cake decorating caddy! I love mine!

I have one of those. I love it!!!!!!!
I'm just trying to figure out how to paint it pink. It holds everything, except my wilton rolling pin. I got mine from Wal-Mart for 25.00.

I bought one that looks like that at walmart for less than $30.00 it is great because the top comes off like a tool caddy and there is storage underneath, plus it is on wheels so you dont have to carry it if you fill it with too much stuff

WOW I am going to have to tell my DH he didn't come up with such an original idea after all. You all should have seen my face when he gave me that for Christmas, until he said "Honey I was thinking this would help you when you start teaching." icon_lol.gif

Nah.......don't steal his thunder. Just let him keep thinking he came up with THE original idea! You know how these DH's can be if they get their feelings hurt a little. icon_rolleyes.gif

I can picture you face when he gave it to you! icon_lol.gif Then, it was all better! icon_lol.gif I hate it when my husband gets me like that! icon_lol.gif He is always one upping me!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I have the Wilton Caddy and the tackle box from Canadian Tire.

The wilton one is nice because it can hold some of my bigger items, my tips and my most often used colours.

The tackle box is nice because it holds my other colours, dusts, brushes and my smaller flower making items. It keeps everything really organized.
