This has nothing to do with cakes, but I was wondering if anyone has the reciepe for the bread that you bake with dyed raw eggs and when it is done it looks like a basket of easter eggs? I hope this is clear.
A friend of mine said her G-ma always made this for Easter.

She said that she would dye the eggs raw.
Then she would place them on top of the raw dough.
Then place it in the oven and when done she had an easter basket full of eggs.
She would also take some of the dough and form it into a handle. When all was baked she would put the handle on like a basket.

If you have the reciepe would you send it to me.

Thank you

Lu

I don't have a recipe, but my grandmother used to make "dough-boys" shaped kind of like a larger size gingerbread boy, with arms wrapped around a dyed egg. Raisins for eyes, nose and mouth. I would love some kind of recipe too. Sorry I can't be of any help, I've searched the internet for dough-boys and couldn't find anything. You may want to google "easter breads" as I seemed to find quite a bit where you make some type of braided ring w/eggs. I was thinking of trying one of those recipes and just shaping it the way I want. Good luck

Have you tried Martha Stewart's website ... I seem to recall her making it at some point.
