Well this past Saturday I was baking my b-day cake to take to work for myself and co-workers. Well I baked the first 9x13, chocolate chip fudge cake and I prepared the pan just like I do every other pan. It baked up so beautiful, I took it out of the oven and let it sit for a few minutes and then I turned it out onto the cooling rack and it stuck to pan, it came out in about 10000 pieces. Well I said that is ok so I baked another cake and it was pretty as well. No problems.......let it cool and then torted it and filled it with about an 1" layer of oreo cookie filling and I also made a great new chocolate buttercream. Well I get up Sunday morning I was headed out the door and the Wilton cake taker I was using the side handle broke and my cake landed top side down on the ground, I cried, I was so upset. But the people at work where so nice they went to Harris Teeter and got me a cake and we had a little party. I will never again take a cake and my pocketbook at the same time. You live and learn. But I sure did want some of that cake.

Bless your heart! Guess that means you shouldn't have to make your own birthday cake! I made a cake a few weeks ago with an oreo filling, so I know what you mean about really wanting some of it, though!

You just weren't supposed to make your own cake-they should have catered to you anyway to begin with-you can dazzle them with your talents for someone elses birthday! Hope you had a good one anyway!!!

I know it's sad when you have to make your own b'day cake (I have!) but it sounded like such a great combination. Would love to borrow it to make for work as well. Thanks for the idea!

Best,
