I've been so impressed with all the wonderful cookies on here that I want to try my hand at it. I tried making some of Penny's sugar cookies to play around with and try my hand at decorating. I'm not pleased with the final product. I did the outline then flood technique. You can definately see the outline even after I flooded them. I probably need more practice at outlining to make that part neater.(I love the smooth finish that I see on so many cookies in the gallery)

Is there a particular icing recipe that works better than the others?

Any other tips for someone just starting out?

Thanks!

I would suggest Antonia74's tutorial (as well as her icing recipe; it works great!). I know it has helped many "newbies" thumbs_up.gif

Happy baking!
