I just used my immersion blender to make my cake pan coating (equal parts oil, Crisco and Flour) using the solid flat attachment, and it sure whipped it up fluffy! Am I using the wrong "blade"? I don't know that I'd like it to do that to my icing if I was just adding color to it. Anybody know what the blades all do, I've evidently forgotten. Janice

I have one of the first models available and you can't change blades.

Go on-line and download the manual. I've done that for everything from printers to sprinkler systems to garage door openers.

I knew you'd come through for me Cali, but I don't know the brand of this thing...no name on it and the book has been gone for some time. It is one of those "as seen on TV", I want to say Thunderstick but I'm not sure. It looks a LOT like the Wolfgang Puck one they are selling now. Maybe their manual would help. Thanks. Janice

Most blades do the same thing- regardless of brand (as in a dough hook is a dough hook and a whisk is a whisk- regardless of brand of stand-up mixer.) So, yes, just grab a manual and see what you find. I bet you'll get the right answers.

Thanks, Dawn, I went looking and didn't come up with manuals or explanations for the attachments, so I'll just have to try out the 2 or 3 that might work best...don't know why I didn't just do that in the first place. Janice
