Welcome! I live in Leesville! You might have a hard time finding a home baker in LA since home baking at least to sell is illegal. Do you have a bakery? I know of a few CC members in Louisiana. One has a bakery in shreveport and the other has a bakery in Lake Charles. What exactly are you looking for?
"since home baking at least to sell is illegal"
I didn't know it was illegal to sell homebaked cakes in La. There were so many people who did it in New Orleans. Some of them were as popular as some of the bakeries down there. makes me miss home even more. anyway I'm starting my business back up. I did party planning and event decor in N.O. and I've decided to revive my business back at home (I already have 2 events lined up in N.O.) and try expanding it up here in this area. I have a baby shower coming up in April the theme is the little prince and I wanted a customized cake made. In New Orleans I had this woman that I would send my clients to when they wanted customized cakes to go with their themed event. That is why I wanted someone who baked from home cause that is what she did on a part time basis. She would only do 6 cakes a weekend 3 on a Sat. 3 on a Sun.
Oh well
There's a bakery in Alexandria called Atwoods. Maybe they can help. Sorry, I wish I could be of more help to you.

I do deliver to Alexandria. just took a wedding cake to the "Bistro on the Bayou" Feb 17th. However it has to be worth the drive.

Oh! Are you going to the Day of Sharing in Alexandria?
mpc
I have a question...I live in New Orleans and was wondering...why are all of the days of sharing held on Mondays (or other weekdays)? When I was in Charlotte, NC (due to hurricane Katrina), there days of sharing were held on Sundays...they even did 2 days of sharings (both on the weekend)...one in Charlotte, and one in Raleigh. This is just a nother example of living in the backward***state of Louisiana.
Agree with you. We are backwards.
But I think the reason is CHurch on Sundays and Most of us who own a shop are closed on Mondays.
