I'm needing to make filled soccer cupcakes (ugh, cupcakes. Would almost rather put my tongue in my KA). Anyway, I want to make a chocolate half soccer ball to serve as a sort of "cap" on the cupcake. I'll decorate the edges with piped grass, but I really want this half sphere soccer ball to go on top. Any ideas here on how I can do this? I want the half sphere to cover the entire top of the cupcake.
the molds people were using at Christmas to make chocolate ornaments would work.
just a variation of a theme.

If you have time, what about ordering the edible soccer balls on this link?? I can't imagine trying to decorate all those soccer balls yourself=(

one stop candle shop has the soccer ball candy molds as well. Pretty easy to use, It's where I got them for ds' soccer cake. The mold has 4 different sports balls, for $1.99.
Oh, and the Wilton Wedding White and Dark Chocolate were the colors I used. Tried the normal white, but it didn't look near as good!

Okay, here's what I did - immediately after the decoration suggestion I ran to Michaels. Well, guess what, it isn't Christmas. Those stupid balls don't exist anywhere. What DID exist... was a sale on Wilton pans. I have this irrational disrespect for cupcakes and they had this most wonderful mini loaf pan thing! So, I'm going to make soccer fields instead and make chocolate soccer balls out of the candy molds. Whoo Hooo! Go Me for getting a new pan when I hadn't planned on it. I'm still wanting to fill these mini loafs and they didn't have any of the right tips (my grass tip was squished, so I have to get a new one of those too). Nothing's easy - but hey, pan on sale!
Thanks for all the suggestions!
