Hi every one,

My cousin is getting married in September. I wish to throw a shower for her and ofcourse need ideas for CAKE.

We are in Hong Kong now and the wedding will take place in India. It will be exactly in Kerala ( a tropical state at the southern tip of India ). The guy is working in Italy. Just gave this part for anyone who has an idea for shower cake. I am also arranging a mehendi(henna) party for the shower. icon_cool.gif

mehendi( henna) painting is traditional art in middle east indian and african communities for thousands of years

IT IS ACTUALLY PAINTING YOUR HANDS FINGERS FEET LEGS ETC WITH MEHENDI WHICH IS MADE FROM POWDERED LEAVESAND THEN MADE TO A PASTE

I AM ARRANGING A HENNA PARTY FOR ALL THE LADIES WHO ATTEND THE SHOWER

WE ALSO HAVE A FUNCTION (MEHENDI DAY) FOR OUR WEDDING WITH PAINTING YOUR HANDS< SINGING AND DANCING ETC

Juniper, I have only seen photos of henna painting but think it is really pretty. Do you have a photo you could post here? Janice

Just as I closed the post, the thought hit me that it might be fun to do some of your henna paint designs on your cake, maybe a bct or even just freehand with bc or royal icing. Seems like it would work and look beautiful! Janice

That is so neat! (I've always wanted a tattoo and never got one!) Maybe I could get a small kit and get my artist son to paint a design for me!

yeah I was thinking the same thing, those designs would be an awesome cake..... maybe the cake can be in the shape of India with the henna designs? But the designs would be perfect!
