I have a cake tasting on Sunday, the bride and groom have not given me any clues as to what kind of flavors they like. I have made 4 cakes so far, but I am at a loss for a 5th cake. The cakes I have planned are banana with caramel mousse; lemon scented butter cake with lemon curd; almond white cake with raspberry; and chocolate cake with chocolate hazelnut ganache. I thought about carrott, but it is a summer wedding. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Oh wow! Can I come too? You are making me drool!
Personally I think you have given them a fantastic range of taste tests, and would leave it at that! You have covered the decadent chocolate, the citrus buttercake and the more savoury banana! Well done! thumbs_up.gif

Hi
How about the Pink Champagne cake with the coconut filling posted here on CC. Sounds very yummy.

Wow!!! Those flavors all sounds wonderful!!! I don't think you need to add another flavor ... I think you're giving them plenty already! JMO! icon_smile.gif

I just made the White Almond Sour Cream cake this week-end with strawberries and strawberry pie filling and it was very good.

Maybe a peach filling would be good.

why make the cakes and the fillings together? what if they want to taste the lemon curd and the white cake?

It is also less work for you not to make whole assembled cakes. why not bake cupcakes or small 4" cakes and give them samples of each filling to mix and match?

Banana with caramel mousse - another combination I'm going to have to try!!! What about French Vanilla with strawberries and cream? I have to agree with others, you have given them quite a variety already.

The bride and groom decided on a yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling and chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Thanks for all the ideas. icon_biggrin.gif
