I'm hand painting my bc large mouth bass using gel food coloing. What kind of brushes do I need to buy? And where do I find them at? I'm worried about the brissels falling out and getting in the icing. Thanks!

I've read to use a good quality artist paintbrush from an arts and crafts store. I also read recently that to avoid streaks, use a camel hair paintbrush. Jen

If you are just using the gell colors, any one will do. Just make sure the bristles are in there tight, other wise they will be on your cake. If you are painting with buttercream, then I would say to you an expensive artist brush

The brushes I like, and you may think I'm crazy, are RoseArt and are most likely made for children. There are six different sizes in a pack for like $2.50 and I love them. They have translucent colored handles and soft bristles, probably nylon, and I've never had a problem with the bristles coming out.

I found some today at Walmart, with the crayons, markers, etc. in the school supply section. I've also gotten them at Hobby Lobby, also with markers, colored pencils, etc. The package is yellow and red and says "Artist Brushes" and "All Purpose Brushes" in the top right corner.
