I've got a request for a wedding cake that's white chocolate, with white chocolate frosting as well. The cake part I've got covered.

Does anyone here have a recipe or suggestions for a WC buttercream recipe that crusts? What about the possibility of adding the WC to regular buttercream?

Anyone tried that, or know if it'll still crust up?

Thanks,

I imagine you'd do it the same as chocolate butter cream.

I use the BC Dream crusting recipe.

I just melt a bag of chocolate chips and add the melted chocolate to the butter & shortening before I add the powdered sugar & liquids (Thats how I do regular chocolate BC), so if you add the melted white chocolate to the butter & shoterning at the beginning it would give you white chocolate BC.

Actually Im doing white chocolate cake next weekend too... Ive never done it with white chocolate BC,... I think I'll do that!

Do you guys think white chocolate BC would taste ok on the Chocolate fudge tier too? Or stick to regular vanilla BC on the chocolate fudge tier, and use the white choco BC only on the white chocolate cake tier?

I have used melted white chocolate to all crisco buttercream, all butter buttercream and half/half buttercream and imbc too and it works great. I use 4 0z. for every 3 cups finished icing.

I'm wondering if any of these crust? That's my best smoothing forte'.

For the wc cake, it's exactly the one posted above, lol! How neat.

Yes, adding chocolate to a crusting BC will still crust.

I have always just added melted white chocolate in to my normal crusting buttercream recipe, like I do with the regular chocolate. You may need to add more liquid to it as chocolate seems to make the icing drier.
