I'm doing a wedding cake for a bride who wants chocolate frosting with silver piped accents (squiggles on the sides.) I told her I would ask you guys if silver icing was possible. Any suggestions? Sparkle powder? Grey icing coloring gel?

I would paint the accents in edible silver paint or edible silver lustre dust mixed to a paint with clear alcohol - check out my photos for the bling medallion I did for my son. That was using edible siver paint on fondant (it took a few coats though!). Good luck!

I just ran across this tip on the Sugar Wonder website (the Dallas Cake Club).

Mix equal parts gold, silver or bronze luster dust and powdered sugar together in a small bowl. Add enough clear spirit (vodka, etc.) to make a stiff paste. Add enough piping gel to get piping consistency. Use a small parchment bag to pipe it.
Store leftovers indefinitely in the refrigerator.

I haven't tried it, but it sounds workable. HTH Janice
