Ok, I have a cake to be ready for Sunday, and I won't be able to work on it any on Sunday, so it has to be done ahead. The cake does not need to be refrigerated, so how early is too early to frost and decorate?
I'd love to do it today (friday) but I'm afraid it just won't be as fresh as it could be if I wait until Sat.
Thoughts?

Thanks!

You can easily do it today. Just box it up, then slide it into a clean trash bag and tie off the end. Then put in in an area of the house that's on the cool side of room temp; for me its my garage.

This works well for me and I do it quite frequently.

Today is just fine. I'm doing one today for Sunday as well. And I've done some even longer than that by a day or two, no problem. Still moist and yummy!
