A Cake To Do Within 5 Hours?

My parents are having friend's over, so what better excuse to make a cake? Now all i need is an idea!
I want to make a cake ,but have no idea what i can decorate in 3-4 hours. Any suggestions?
I totally think you can do it start baking now and look through the gallerie
for inspiration.

I've done it before. While the cake was baking I mixed my icing and made my roses. I stuck them in the freezer so I could easily place them on the cake.
When the cake comes out and you turn it onto your rack, let it cool for 15 mins and then stick it in the fridge. It will cool really quickly that way. After its cool do what ever you want. IMO 5 hours is plently of time if you're not doing something too fancy.
You definitely have plenty of time...just sounds like you need some inspiration! I keep a stash of royal flowers on hand so that if I have a short notice or last minute cake, I can always just plop some on. Also, if you're doing minimal decorating, making the main color something other than white can spice things up fast.
