oK, so you may have read my excitement about my choco mmf last night/this morning. well it was very pliable last night. when i woke up this morning (mind you its wrapped up tightly in greased saran wrap)it was tougher. What can I do to make it pliable again? microwave? add water?
Also I'm applying it over a heartshaped cake. Is there any trick to getting it smoothly over ther the edges?

please help, thanks yall

Mine was stiffer this morning too. It's no biggy! Just knead it with some more crisco and it's fine icon_smile.gif

When I am using MMF the day after it is made, I nuke it in the microwave(a few seconds a time) and it softens up nicely. Then I use the crisco to help keep it soft while working with it. Nuking it saves me from having to knead like crazy, lol=)

...a few seconds at a time in the mircowave...add bits of crisco as your kneading it...
When your trying to smooth it on the heart cake, just take your time in working out the folds....it just takes alot of smoothing, pulling gently down on the fondant as your are smoothing it...just dont be rushed when ya do it...for me, it takes alot of time....good luck! thumbs_up.gif

I have a question on MMF while we're on the subject, can a little pinch of salt be added to the recipe to cut the sweetness just a tad?

Popcorn salt would be better, due to it being a much smaller grain.

well i must have done something wrong. the first time i took it out after putting it into the microwave and added crisco it was still crumby however i got it on the cake. However I noticed a big split up the side. the only problem is Im stenciling to i cant really cover it up. Well try number two came around and it was worse. I think i nuked it too much and tried to work with it at the same time. I just threw it away. Normally id be upset but im ok. i just moved alone. i bought VIVA for the first time today so ima try to just use that technique!
