Hi guys~
I am not that experienced yet but am looking to do a Land Before Time cake. Does any one have one that they can share with me, or have any ideas for one. I will be taking Wilton Course 3 by the time I need to make this cake so any sugestions would help. This is for a 5 year old boy who LOVES dinosaurs.
Thanks for all your help
Nancy

I saw lots of ideas in the galleries that you might be able to use. Do a search for dinosaur.

You could probably look for some Duckie/Spike/Sara/Little Foot artwork and coloring pages/clip art online and do a FBCT to a sheet cake.
You could also border it in leaves (tree stars).

If you have an Easter egg pan or 1/2 football pan...it could easily be transformed to a dino egg. Cover with fondant/MMF and sponge paint it. Put it on top of a sheet cake covered in brown stringwork/piping....like a nest.

That's a good idea. You can even chop the 'egg' in two, serate the edges of each and have a baby dino popping out of the egg.

I did the Debbie Brown one of a baby dragon - but if you change the tail a little it could be a dino. It was very easy and other than the dragon the eggs could be done in BC.

you could always do a bunch of pre historic brush style plants, then put their faces along the sides (on, maybe, a circular cake).

look at local thrift stores in the toy department for the old LBT characters(I find a lot of good props for my cakes there). you can usually find them in bags grouped together.

oh, or maybe you can do the new character from the movie, guido, I think thats his name, with a though/conversation bubble saying happy birthday to the child

hope that helps
