I keep seeing the term 'crumb coating'. What does that mean? Also, was wondering if there is a difference between torting and filling?
Thanks, trying to learn as much as I can icon_smile.gif

It is a thin layer of icing that is applied to seal in all the crumbs.

Torting is when you cut the cake into layers. Filling is when you are putting icing/fillings between those layers, when you put the cake back together.
