Do you love it or would you buy a different brand if you had the chance? and any website links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys,

I am wondering the same thing! Sorry I don't have any ideas for you as I don't have one. But here's a BUMP.

I strongly recommend the Airmaster brush and compressor system sold by Kopykake. It is the only system designed specifically for cake decorators. I've had mine for several years and have had no problem with it. Expect to spend around $200 for the whole system.

I just recently bought the airmaster and totally love it. I had trouble with the first one and when I called Kopykake on a Saturday at 10 am est (they are in CA) they returned my call within 15 minutes and within 10 minutes or so of trying to troubleshoot was shipping another one to me, which I had by Wednesday the next week. And they paid to ship my first one back. Great customer service.

Check the archives for the posts on airbrushes that were written by cigarherb.

There is a lot of great information on airbrushes and compressors there, including where to buy.

i have the airmaster too, it is a great machine, really wouldn't ever need another one.
But americolor also has one, even more money then the kopykake though that i would like to try, it has a lifetime warranty on the airbrush so if you ever have problems send it back to them and they will fix it or replace it for free. Its called the americolor matrix professional, runs almost $300, where as the kopykake is about $215.

I bought mine from Hobby Lobby using the luckily ever so often 40% one item. Mine is the Iwata eclispe HB-CS model with the silver jet air compressor( it says on the box it's great for cake decorating). I think it averaged out to around $160 w/ out tax. Haven't yet tried it out but will be next week.

Where have you seen the Americolor Matrix professional? I remember Color Boy mentioning it in August and have been patiently waiting to hear more about it.

Hey there, Congratulations on graduating, good for you. Are you doing pastrys or cooking or both?
Anyway, I got a large CO2 tank from a welding supply company and have a hose hooked up to it, and bought my airbrush on ebay, all cost me about $150. That is including filling my tank!
Just a hint, when you do get an airbrush if you don't get a copy cake one, get a single action with a cup on top of the gun that way you can dip it in water rinse and move on. I had one that you filled the cup from the bottom and what a pain in the neck to switch colors. I also invested in a stencil burner and stencil paper, which is overhead projecter plastic paper. I then copy any picture I want by tracing it with a sharpie, fine tip one, and then burn the stencils with the burner, one stencil for each color, this is time consuming. But SO worth it.
Okay information overload, sorry. Hope this helps thumbs_up.gif
