For my son's birthday I am going with a "Monkey Theme". I would love to have some really cute monkey cookies as party favors. I am planning on ordering cookie cutters from "Coppergifts.com" - they have a monkey head. Does anyone have a monkey cookie ideas? Blessings~

Alright, I am going to share my deep, dark secret with everyone on how to make the cutest cookies...the easiest way. Not sure if anyone else have every thought of this but I have so I'm going to claim it as my idea icon_razz.gif

Go to http://www.orientaltrading.com

Do a search for the type of character you want to do and add the word craft. So in your case search for "monkey craft".

Oriental Trading company has foam craft kits that kids can put together in different themes, such as monkeys, bunnies, snowman, etc.

This reminded me, for some reason, on doing sugar cookies and decorating them with fondant. Their foam kit pieces that you put together to create the "monkey" are the same shapes you could cut out of fondant to make a monkey "cookie". Either purchase a kit, keep one of them as a template and give the rest away...or use them as a guide on how to cut your fondant pieces. I wonder if you used chocolate clay or that Sweet Inspirations chocolate fondant in milk chocolate for the monkies, that would probably taste really good.

The "MONKEY MAGNETS WITH SUNGLASSES CRAFT KIT" would make really cute cookies for kids.

So there it is, my little secret. I hope it's usefull to someone out there.
