I just made my 1st batch of MMF and it turned out beautiful. Once I tasted it, I couldn't imagine going back to Wilton again! Just wanted to share it with you all - without your tips and inputs, I wouldn't have known that something like MMF exists, let alone make it at home! Thank you all at CC - you guys are athe best!

I want to try to make a batch but was wondering if I can only make it properly with a kitchenaid...I have bought a generic stand mixer thing from walmart but am able to release the mixer if need be. Just wondering... Congrats on your MMF turning out.

I'm glad you had sucess with the mmf. I just figured out what "mmf" stood for! I printed the recipe and will probably be making it soon. I hope mine turns out well also. The Wilton stuff is expensive and my family says it has no taste. Maybe they'll like this better.
Well wishes and continued sucess to you.

jmcakes, that's funny! I bought that "mixer stand thingy" from Wal-Mart too! I had planned on using mine. Those other mixers "the grand-daddy of mixers" I call them, are too expensive. I'm not a pro yet, so I don't need "pro-toys".

You don't have to use a mixer to make mmf. you stir it with your hands. You have to work a little harder but it is easy to make I never use a mixer.

boy, you'd think someone could sell me a VanGogh original!!! If I assumed I needed it, or it made me "look" as though I knew what I was doing, I bought it! Still haven't been able to explain how my pound cake caught on fire icon_surprised.gif

I just made it today. It came out great. I followed the tutorial here on cc written by ntertayneme. It was perfect. She made it seem so easy. Thanks ntertayneme. icon_biggrin.gif

Same here - used the recipe posted by ntertayneme on the site. But cut back on the sugar - used one and half pounds as advised by the CC members. It was easy to work with since the instructions were so clear,

I made two batches today without my KA. I kind of like doing it by hand. It's very therapeutic...especially when it starts cooling down and you can knead it like bread. I don't think I'll use the mixer again. Oh...and I melted the marshmallows in a big bowl and then added the powdered sugar to that instead of putting the powdered sugar in a bowl and pouring the marshmallow over, as directed. I could tell no difference. One less dirty bowl.
